Emoji Keyboard Shortcuts for iPhone, Android, Mac and Windows
Every shortcut to open the emoji keyboard, plus time-savers most people don't know.
Windows
Windows + . (period) or Windows + ; (semi-colon) opens the emoji picker in any text field.
macOS
Control + Command + Space. Click the arrow at the top-right of the popup to expand into the full Character Viewer.
iPhone / iPad
Tap the 🙂 or 🌐 next to the spacebar. Pro tip: type a word like "love" and iOS will suggest the matching emoji in the suggestion strip.
Android (Gboard)
Tap the 🙂 next to the spacebar. Long-press for recently-used emojis. Gboard can also suggest a combo when you type a related word.
ChromeOS / Linux
ChromeOS: Search + Shift + Space. Linux: depends on distribution — emoji-picker or GNOME's built-in picker usually work.
